A 67-year-old patient who previously underwent surgery for a neurinoma developed Residual right-sided facial nerve paresis as a result. Due to the palsy, she presents with severe ptosis of the skin, atrophy of the subcutaneous tissues, lower eyelid retraction with ectropion, and lagophthalmos.
For aesthetic and functional purpose, she had mini-invasive surgery in November 6th, 2024, the patient underwent two procedures:
1. Thread lifting for the upper, middle, and lower face.
2. Lower eyelid spacer placement to correct eyelid position and eliminate ectropion.
After 5 months of this interventions stability of the effect of the threads and spacer is visible and at this stage, she is scheduled for the following interventions:
• Upper eyelid spacer placement using a specially designed device by Aptos to address lagophthalmos.
• Surgical eyebrow lifting to restore brow position and improve upper facial symmetry.
• Additional thread lifting procedures for overall facial support and contour enhancement.
This combined approach aims to improve both functional and aesthetic outcomes, addressing the consequences of facial palsy.
